To the left is a playhouse once enjoyed by Mabel Tainter, daughter of a prominent Wisconsin lumberman. The larger building is the Hillcrest one-room school, built in 1873, that for 90 years stood near Wheeler Township before being moved to the Dunn County Fairgrounds, where it remained for another 30 years before becoming part of the heritage museum's holdings.
