The more interesting component of this photograph, however, is the tall, steel-clad building with diamond-shaped openings in the distance. Abandoned as of the date of this image (in 2015), it was the tower extension of the old Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone Co. Building, which, according to the Pueblo Historical Society, had normal high-rise office windows at the time. Seen from the street in 2015, it appears to be an empty shell that looks more like a parking garage than an office building.
