The cemetery's most famous such window, by Louis Tiffany and costing $1 million, can be found in the nearby gateway chapel. Woodland was incorporated in 1842 by John Whitten Van Cleve, who had been the first male child born in Dayton. The highest point in Dayton can be found within the cemetery, and during the Great Dayton Flood of 1913 that destroyed much of the city, it became a place of refuge. | Credit line: Photographs in the Carol M.
