This one, with its decorative apples, is located at the "Longaberger Homestead," a complex of office buildings, shops, restaurants in Frayzesburg, to which the company moved all its operations in 2016. The company, a maker of baskets, pottery, and other household items, had just closed the famous seven- story-tall "Big Basket" headquarters building in Newark. Longaberger's oversized basket idea took form in the smaller town of Dresden, where it began operations in 1973 and which had built a thriving tourism economy around baskets since the Great Depression of the 1930s. | Credit line: Photographs in the Carol M.
