By 1931, the Marion Theatre was acquired by the Saenger Amusements chain, which renamed the theatre to the Paramount. It continued to operate as a movie house for over three more decades and in 1986, the Paramount Theatre was taken over by a group that used the theater for performing arts, briefly renaming it the Larry Thompson Center for the Performing Arts. The building was closed at the time of this photograph in 2017. | Credit line: Photographs in the Ben May Charitable Trust Collection of Mississippi Photographs in the Carol M.
