The "Tod Engine," built in 1914 for the Brier Hill Steel Company in Youngstown, powered a rolling mill that made semi-finished steel products for 65 years, and above it is a Morgan electric overhead traveling crane. Built in 1893, it is the oldest electric crane in existence in the United States. The first electric overhead crane, invented five years earlier, revolutionized material handling in industrial plants. | Credit line: Photographs in the Carol M.
