McKinney was the commander of the Georgia Militia on the Confederate side in the American Civil War. This image was taken by American photographer Carol M. Highsmith, whose middle initial is short for "McKinney." Her paternal grandfather, Carlton McKinney, grew up in Blue Ridge and was part of the McKinney clan. | Credit line: Photographs in Carol M.
