Denver, Colorado's, landmark Daniels & Fisher Tower, known locally as the D&F Tower, was built as part of the Daniels & Fisher department store in 1910. At a height of 325 feet, it was the tallest structure between the Mississippi River and the state of California at the time of construction. The building was designed by architect Frederick Sterner and modeled after The Campanile (St. Mark's Bell Tower) at the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy. After the store's successor company vacated the building, it was converted into loft apartments | Credit line: Gates Frontiers Fund Colorado Collection within the Carol M.
