New York J.T. Lloyd, Publisher, 164 Broadway. Price. 50 Cents each, colored in sheets. Entered ... 1862 by J.T. Lloyd ... | Highly detailed, large scale map of the state issued "with linen backs for Army Officers" (this copy without linen). At the eastern border with Tennessee is a printed note next to a railroad line: "Military Rail Road propos: by the President in his last message to connect Danville, Ky with Knoxville, Ten." This has the usual idiosyncratic Lloyd ads, testimonials from Military authorities, and disparagements of competitor H.H. Lloyd. Oddly, folded into stamped dark brown cloth Colton covers 16x10 saying "Map of Kentucky - G.W. & C.B. Colton" in gilt, apparently as issued. Second edition, first edition being 1862. Full color by county.

We print high quality reproductions of historical maps, photographs, prints, etc. Because of their historical nature, some of these images may show signs of wear and tear - small rips, stains, creases, etc. We believe that in many cases this contributes to the historical character of the item.
