Collection: Currier & Ives

"Printmakers to the American People" was the motto of the New York firm of Currier & Ives — and from 1834 to 1907 they lived up to it, producing more than 7,500 hand-colored lithographs that chronicled nearly every facet of 19th-century American life. Sleigh rides and steamboats, political cartoons and sporting scenes, holiday hearths and harbor views all came off their presses. This collection brings together reproductions of their most beloved prints, including the perennial favorite Central Park in Winter.
